Mohammed Alaa Ghanem is senior political advisor, government relations director, and strategist for the Syrian American Council. His work connects US policymakers and the Syrian-American community with the revolution inside Syria. Ghanem travels to the liberated parts of Syria, participates in international conferences on Syria, and advises local administrative councils in liberated areas across Syria on international relations. A fellow with the Syrian Center for Political and Strategic Studies involved in its Syria Transition Roadmap post-Assad transition project, he has contributed op-eds to The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Foreign Policy and has appeared on CNN, Al Jazeera, and MSNBC.
