Mona Charen is a syndicated columnist, Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, and co-hosts the podcast, “Need to Know.” Charen was Nancy Reagan’s speechwriter, then associate director of the White House Office of Public Liaison, and later helped craft President Reagan’s communications strategy. In 1986, she joined the presidential campaign of Jack Kemp. Charen spent six years as a regular commentator on CNN’s “Capital Gang” and “Capital Gang Sunday” and has been a Pulitzer Prize judge. She authored three books, Useful Idiots, Do-Gooders, and Sex Matters, published in June 2018. In 2010, she received the Eric Breindel Award for Excellence in Opinion Journalism.
