Monica Haslip is founder and executive director of Little Black Pearl, a nonprofit aiming to transform the lives of youth and their families through the arts, culture, and entrepreneurship. A community leader, social entrepreneur, and activist, she is a skilled facilitator and trainer in racial healing and racial equity. Haslip has worked with corporations, nonprofits, and government agencies to help them develop and implement strategies for promoting racial equity, and has participated in initiatives and organizations including the Descendants Truth & Reconciliation Foundation, National Collaborative for Health Equity, W. K. Kellogg Foundation, and Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership. Named a Distinguished Scholar in Racial Healing Practice at University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, her honors also include the Obama administration’s Champion of Change and the Leaders for a New Chicago Award.
