Nathan Wolfe is the founder and chairman of the board of Metabiota, a data analytics company focused on epidemic risk. An advisor to and investor in technology companies, he previously was a professor of epidemiology at UCLA. Wolfe is the author of The Viral Storm and has published over 100 scientific publications. His work has appeared in Nature, Science, The New York Times, The Economist, NPR, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Wired, and Forbes, among others. A regular TED presenter, Wolfe’s honors include a Fulbright fellowship, NIH Director’s Pioneer Award, World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, and National Geographic Emerging Explorer. He received his doctorate in immunology and infectious diseases from Harvard in 1998.
