Naveena Sadasivam is a senior staff writer at Grist, where she covers oil and gas and the petrochemical industry. Prior to joining Grist as a staff writer in 2019, she reported and wrote for the Texas Observer, Inside Climate News, and ProPublica. Earlier in her career, she was the physical sciences editor and iPad app editor for Scienceline, a student-run website, and a reporter at Climate Control ME. Sadasivam has won accolades from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Society of Environmental Journalists and the Radio Television Digital News Association. She earned her master’s degree in science, health and environmental reporting from New York University in 2014.
