Navyn Salem is the founder/CEO of Edesia, a non-profit, social enterprise working to end malnutrition through the production of fortified, ready-to-use foods like Plumpy’Nut for UNICEF, World Food Programme and USAID. Since 2009, Edesia has reached 16 million children in 60 countries from Afghanistan to Somalia to Guatemala and beyond. In 2020 she expanded domestically, working with USDA to provide COVID-19 emergency food for school lunch programs and food banks across the U.S. Navyn’s father is from Tanzania and she has four daughters, all of whom were the inspiration for the creation of Edesia.
