Nicholas Kristof is an op-ed columnist for The New York Times, since 2001. He joined the Times in 1984 and was previously bureau chief in Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo. Kristof’s most recent book is a memoir, “Chasing Hope: A Reporter’s Life.” He is the co-author, with his wife, Sheryl WuDunn, of five previous books: “Tightrope,” “A Path Appears,” “Half the Sky,” “Thunder from the East” and “China Wakes.” Kristof has been awarded two Pulitzer Prizes, one with WuDunn in 1990 for their coverage of China and the second in 2006 for his columns on Darfur. He briefly ran for governor of Oregon in 2022 and makes Kristof Farms hard cider.
