Nicholas Thompson is CEO of The Atlantic. The former editor in chief of Wired, two stories on Facebook he wrote while there have been cited multiple times in Congress. Thompson is a contributor for CBS News and regularly appears on the network’s “This Morning” and “Sunday Morning” programs. A co-founder of The Atavist digital publication and multimedia content management system, he was previously editor of NewYorker.com and, before that, was a senior editor at The New Yorker. He is the author of The Hawk and the Dove: Paul Nitze, George Kennan, and the History of the Cold War. An avid runner, Thompson set the American record for men 45-plus in the 50K in 2021.
