Oliver Walker is a director of Vivid Economics, where he leads the economics consultancy’s work on climate and disaster risk and resilience. His clients include utilities, investors, insurers, government agencies, development banks, and NGOs. A professional economist with experience in consulting and academia, Walker is an expert on the economics of resilience, disaster risk management, and disaster risk finance, and his interests include natural resource management planning, infrastructure finance, and regulatory design. Previously, he held positions at University of Cambridge and London School of Economics Grantham Research Institute, among others. Co-author of The Rough Guide to Economics, Walker has published research on decision-making under “deep” uncertainty and insurance markets.
