Padmanabhan Anandan

Padmanabhan Anandan is CEO of Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence, a nonprofit research institute with the mission of AI for social good. A researcher in computer vision and AI, Anandan’s 30-year career in academia and industry includes positions as vice president of research for Adobe and 18 years at Microsoft, where among other roles he was founder and managing director of Microsoft Research India. He was also a professor of computer science at Yale University and senior technical staff and group manager at Sarnoff Corporation, responsible for research in the area of computer vision. Anandan is a board member of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, his alma mater.
