Patti Austin

American Pop and Jazz Singer

Patti Austin is a singer and total entertainer who first stepped onto the stage of Harlem’s Apollo Theater at the age of four. The daughter of a jazz trombonist, she became a recording artist by her teens and in the 1970s was considered the queen of New York’s session scene. Austin achieved mainstream international success after signing with her godfather Quincy Jones’s Qwest label, releasing the Grammy-nominated hit, “Baby Come To Me”; the Grammy-nominated album, For Ella; and the Grammy-winning jazz album, Avant Gershwin. She has been touring worldwide for over two decades with her unique take on the classic American songbook.
