Paul Hobson is a San Diego-based artist. He works with municipal agencies and private developers to create public art with connections between infrastructure projects and the communities they serve. Since 1986, Hobson has completed over 50 public and private art projects. Earlier in his career, Hobson was studio assistant to Herbert Bayer from 1975 to 1986. In this role, he developed drawings and models for sculpture and environmental artworks and assisted in the execution of the “Anthology Series” paintings. Hobson’s work has been recognized with San Diego Architectural Foundation’s Orchid Design Award for Fine Art and American Society of Civil Engineers Project of the Year San Diego and American Public Works Association San Diego/Imperial Chapters Project of the Year designations.
