Paula Daniels is co-founder, chief of “what’s next,” and founding chair of the Center for Good Food Purchasing, which uses the power of procurement to create a transparent and equitable food system that prioritizes the health and well-being of people, animals, and the environment. The nonprofit is a national spinoff of the Los Angeles Food Policy Council, which she founded in 2011. A lawyer, Daniels has held several senior positions in government in California and Los Angeles on water policy and food policy, including senior advisor on food policy to former Los Angeles mayor Villaraigosa. She is an Ashoka Fellow, a Stanton Fellow of the Durfee Foundation, and a lecturer at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
