Pedro Ramos is superintendent of Everglades National Park and Dry Tortugas National Park, responsible for over 1.5 million acres of land and marine areas. He recently added to his portfolio oversight of Biscayne National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve, the latter of which he was previously superintendent. Ramos’s NPS career has also included acting superintendent assignments at Jimmy Carter and Andersonville National Historic Sites in Georgia, San Juan National Historic Site in Puerto Rico, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. He was previously with US Department of Agriculture Rural Development, where he started as a student trainee, served as a community development manager in the US Virgin Islands and then administration director for Vermont, New Hampshire, and the Virgin Islands.
