Peter Coleman is a professor of psychology and education at Columbia University, where he is executive director of the Advanced Consortium on Cooperation, Conflict, and Complexity in the Earth Institute. He also directs the Morton Deutsch International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution and is founding director of the Institute for Psychological Science and Practice. The author or editor of twelve books, Coleman’s most recent is The Way Out: How to Overcome Toxic Polarization. An expert on constructive conflict resolution, he has written over 100 scientific articles. Coleman’s work has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, and Nature, among other publications. His recognition includes the 2018 Peace Award from Meaningful World.
