Peter Isely is a survivor of sexual assault as a child by a Roman Catholic priest. In 1992, he co-founded the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, which has over 18,000 members nationally, and in 2018, he co-founded Ending Clergy Abuse, a global network of survivors, activists, and organizations. A psychotherapist and trauma specialist, Isely was the clinical director of the world’s only inpatient hospital treatment program for clergy sexual assault survivors. He is the recipient of the Peter J. Gomes Memorial Alumni Honors of Harvard University, the National Association of Social Workers Public Service Award, and the Thomas G. Cannon Equal Justice Medal of the Legal Aid Society.
