Rachel Goslins is director of the Arts and Industries Building at the Smithsonian Institution, responsible for developing and implementing programming, exhibitions, and infrastructure. From 2009 to 2015, she was executive director of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. Previously, Goslins founded a documentary production company, directing feature documentaries and working on productions for PBS, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, and History. She was also the director of the Independent Digital Distribution Lab, a joint PBS/ITVS project. She began her career as an international copyright attorney. Goslins is a trustee of the Greater Washington Community Foundation and advisory board member of the Institute for Contemporary Art in Richmond, Virginia, and the Halcyon Social Impact Incubator in Washington, DC.
