Raj Shah is president of the Rockefeller Foundation, whose mission is to promote the well-being of humanity around the world, since 2017. He previously founded Latitude Capital, a private equity firm focused on power and infrastructure projects in Africa and Asia, and was a Distinguished Fellow at Georgetown University. From 2009 to 2015, Shah was administrator of USAID, where he led the US response to the Haiti earthquake and West African Ebola pandemic. Prior to that, he was chief economist (among other positions) at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he created the International Financing Facility for Immunization. Shah’s honors include the Secretary of State’s Distinguished Service Award and the US Global Leadership Award.
