Ramya Swaminathan is CEO of Malta, developing energy-storage technology to enable a sustainable, just transition from fossil fuels to clean energy. Prior to this, she was CEO of Rye Development hydropower firm. Previously, Swaminathan was a public finance banker. She serves as a US Department of Energy Clean Energy Education and Empowerment ambassador. She was also appointed by Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm to the Electricity Advisory Committee to advise on modernizing the nation’s electricity delivery infrastructure and was appointed by Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo to the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Committee to advise on US competitiveness in these sectors. Her recognition includes being named one of 21 rising stars in clean energy on Business Insider’s 2020 list.
