Rebeca Méndez is an artist, designer, and professor in the UCLA Department of Design Media Arts, where she directs the CounterForce Lab. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and has been exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Hammer Museum, Nevada Art Museum, and Museum of Contemporary Art in Oaxaca, Mexico, among others. Among several honors, Méndez was a guest curator at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, co-chair for the 2018 National Design Awards, and a juror for the Pritzker Emerging Environmental Genius Award in 2017 and 2018. She’s a steering committee member and co-curator of the 2019 Aspen Ideas Festival.
