Rebecca Onie is CEO of Health Leads, which she co-founded in 1996 as a college sophomore. Health Leads is a social enterprise that creates solutions to equip health care institutions, physicians, and other providers to “prescribe” food, electricity, and other basic resources that patients need to be healthy and to connect them with community resources. Onie’s numerous honors include a MacArthur genius grant and the Aspen Institute’s Health Innovators Fellowship. She has delivered hundreds of lectures and keynotes, and her TEDMED presentation has been viewed nearly one million times. Her work has been covered extensively by media including The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, JAMA, and Modern Healthcare.
