Rene Gonzalez is principal of Rene Gonzalez Architects, which he founded in 1997. With a holistic approach that integrates architecture, interiors, and the landscape, he is attuned to environmental issues affecting the world, and RGA is responding to emerging conditions by developing resilient solutions to sea-level rise in coastal communities. Gonzalez has lectured and taught widely and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. He’s the recipient of AIA Miami’s 2012 H. Samuel Kruse Silver Medal for Design, and RGA received AIA Miami’s 2011 Firm of the Year award, among many others. Gonzalez co-authored the firm’s first monograph, entitled Not Lost in Translation and published in 2018.
