Robert Fraley is an executive vice president and chief technology officer at Monsanto Company. He has been with Monsanto for over 30 years and oversees its global technology division, including plant breeding, plant biotechnology, ag biologicals, data science, and crop protection. Fraley is recognized as the founder of agricultural biotechnology, having produced the world’s first GMO plant. Among other honors, he was named a World Food Prize Laureate in 2013, has been recognized with the 1998 National Medal of Technology, and received the 2008 National Academy of Sciences’ Award for the Industrial Application of Science for his work on crop improvement.
