Robert Harvey
President and Co-CEO, FoodCorps
Robert Harvey is president and co-CEO of FoodCorps. He is an educator, community-systems strategist, advocate for justice and equity, and writer and a leading voice in the national conversation on the education and health of Black and brown children. Harvey previously served as school superintendent and chief academic officer in K-12 public school systems in New York City, chief operating officer at an historically Black college and university in Louisville, and elementary school leader in Memphis. He authored “Abolitionist Leadership in Schools: Undoing Systemic Injustice through Communally Conscious Education” and co-authored “Teaching as Protest: Emancipating Classrooms through Racial Consciousness.” He has written for Education Week, Chalkbeat, Education Dive, and TheGrio. Harvey is board chair of The Current Project and a member of the boards of Affinia Healthcare and Saint Louis Dance Theatre.
