Roger Ferguson

Roger Ferguson Jr. is the Steven A. Tananbaum Distinguished Fellow for International Economics at the Council on Foreign Relations. An economist and attorney, he is the immediate past president and CEO of retirement services provider TIAA. Ferguson previously led financial services and was an executive committee member of Swiss Re, a reinsurance company. From 1999 to 2006, he was vice chair of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System, and a member for two years prior to that. Earlier in his career, Ferguson was an associate and partner at McKinsey and Company and an attorney in private practice. He is a member of the Smithsonian Institution Board of Regents, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, and serves on the boards of Alphabet, Corning, General Mills, and International Flavors & Fragrances.
