Ron-Li Liaw is director of the Sala Institute Center for Child and Family Resilience and service chief for child and adolescent psychiatry at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone Health. She is a clinical associate professor of child and adolescent psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine and leads pediatric integration, family resiliency, and staff well-being strategic initiatives within NYU Langone Health and NYC Health + Hospitals. Liaw’s areas of expertise include child and family stress and resiliency, mental health integration within children’s health care, family-centered care and co-production, diversity and health equity, and staff engagement and well-being. She also teaches an NYU College of Arts and Science course using cinema, called Looking Back on Growing Up.
