Ron Klain is a partner at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, heading its strategic counseling and crisis management practice. He rejoined the firm in early 2023 after serving as White House chief of staff for President Biden, his third presidential administration. Klain was previously a senior aide and White House Ebola response coordinator for President Obama, and prior to that chief of staff to then-vice president Biden. In the Clinton administration, he was chief of staff to vice president Al Gore, chief of staff to attorney general Janet Reno, and counsel to President Clinton. Other government roles include staff director of the Senate Democratic Leadership Committee and chief counsel of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Klain’s private-sector roles also include general counsel of venture capital firm Revolution, president of Case Holdings, and advisor to the Skoll Foundation Global Threats Fund. Klain was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2021.
