Sam Teicher is co-founder and chief reef officer of Coral Vita, a social enterprise that grows resilient corals to restore dying reefs and employs efforts such as selling restoration to reef-dependent customers and leveraging coral farms as tourism attractions to help preserve ecosystem health. Prior to launching Coral Vita out of the Yale School of the Environment, he worked on climate resiliency initiatives at the White House and the Global Island Partnership. Teicher has also been COO and lead environmental project manager at ELI Africa in Mauritius. He’s an Echoing Green fellow and Forbes 30 Under 30 social entrepreneur and co-authored U.N. Sustainable Development Goal 14. In 2021, Coral Vita was the inaugural winner of Prince William’s Revive Our Oceans Earthshot Prize.
