Sarah Newman

Founder and Executive Director, Climate Mental Health Network

Sarah Newman is the founder and executive director of the Climate Mental Health Network, a collective of community advocates focused on fostering mental well-being by reshaping the national dialog and actions about the emotional impacts of the climate crisis. She started the organization in 2021 after her own struggles with climate emotions, and it has quickly grown to lead nationwide research and interventions and create tools and resources. Prior to this, Newman was an independent strategy consultant for social impact campaigns. Previously, she was a researcher and campaign manager at Participant Media. Early in her career, Newman was an outreach director at California Interfaith Power and Light, a statewide program focused on climate change.
