Scott Kirby
CEO, United Airlines
Scott Kirby is CEO of United Airlines. He was the company’s president from 2016 to 2020, responsible for United’s operations, marketing, sales, alliances, network planning, and revenue management. Kirby is also chairman of the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board, elected in 2020. Previously, he was president of American Airlines from 2013 to 2016 and president of US Airways from 2006 to 2013. He joined America West Airlines in 1995, working his way up through increasingly senior roles to executive vice president. Kirby played pivotal roles in the mergers of American Airlines with US Airways and of US Airways with American West. He started his career at the Pentagon and in the technology sector.
