Sean Trende is senior elections analyst for RealClearPolitics and a nonresident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, focusing on elections, American political trends, voting patterns, and demographics. In 2021, the Supreme Court of Virginia selected him as a redistricting special master tasked with redrawing the state’s congressional and legislative districts following the 2020 US census. Trende has also served as an expert in courts across the country and for the Supreme Court of Belize. Previously, he practiced law for eight years.
