Selwin Hart is special advisor to the UN secretary-general on climate action. Heensures delivery of climate change priorities in alignment with the Paris Agreement and sustainable development goals. Prior to this, Hart was executive director for the Caribbean region at the Inter-American Development Bank. He was previously ambassador to the United States and the Organization of American States for Barbados and director of the UN secretary-general’s climate change support team. Throughout his career, Hart has held climate action leadership positions, including climate advisor for Caribbean Development Bank, chief climate change negotiator for Barbados, and coordinator and lead negotiator on finance for the Alliance of Small Island Developing States.
