Sharon Begley is the senior science writer at STAT, the life sciences publication of The Boston Globe. Previously she was senior health and science correspondent at Reuters, science editor and science columnist at Newsweek, and science columnist at The Wall Street Journal. Begley is the author of Can’t Just Stop: An Investigation of Compulsions and Train Your Mind, Change Your Brain; she co-authored The Emotional Life of Your Brain. She has received numerous awards for her writing, including an honorary degree from University of North Carolina at Asheville for communicating science to the public and the Public Understanding of Science Award from the San Francisco Exploratorium.
