Sheila Johnson is the founder and CEO of Salamander Collection, a luxury properties group in the United States and Caribbean. A partner of Monumental Sports and Entertainment, she is the only African American woman to have ownership in three professional sports teams. Previously, Johnson headed the formation of WE Capital to support and invest in female-led enterprises. Prior to this, she co-founded Black Entertainment Television, executive produced documentary and feature films and founded the Middleburg Film Festival. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences education committee, Johnson chairs the College of Performing Arts at The New School. She is also a board member of Metropolitan Opera, Jackie Robinson Foundation and PBS Foundation. Johnson’s memoir is “Walk Through Fire.”
