Sheila Johnson is founder and CEO of Salamander Collection, a luxury properties group with destinations in the U.S. and the Caribbean. A partner of Monumental Sports and Entertainment, she is the only African American woman to have ownership in three professional sports teams. Previously, Johnson headed the formation of WE Capital to support and invest in female-led enterprises. She also co-founded Black Entertainment Television, executive produced documentary and feature films and founded the Middleburg Film Festival. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences focusing on the education committee, Johnson serves on several boards including the Trust for the National Mall, College of Performing Arts at The New School, the Metropolitan Opera and Aspen Music Festival and School. Her memoir is “Walk Through Fire.”
