Sherrie Westin is president of Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind “Sesame Street.” She was previously the organization’s president of social impact and philanthropy and led a partnership with the International Rescue Committee to create the largest early childhood intervention in the history of humanitarian response. Earlier, Westin was an assistant for public liaison and intergovernmental affairs to President George H.W. Bush, an assistant secretary for public affairs at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and held senior positions at ABC and U.S. News & World Report. Named a Leading Global Thinker by Foreign Policy Magazine, she chairs the Joan Ganz Cooney Center and serves on boards including UNICEF USA and the US Global Leadership Coalition.
