
Sophie Bearman is a multimedia journalist and director of special projects at The San Francisco Standard, where she develops original storytelling initiatives across audio and video. There she hosts “Life in Seven Songs,” a podcast in which notable figures share their life stories through the music that shaped them. As a freelance reporter and podcast producer, Bearman is also co-creator of “Admissible: Shreds of Evidence,” an award-winning investigative podcast that exposed wrongful convictions, produced in collaboration with iHeartRadio and Virginia Public Media. The series led to new legislation and funding for a review of thousands of criminal cases. Previously, she led The Standard’s multimedia division, overseeing its video and photo teams. Before that, she worked at CNBC, Jigsaw Productions and TheStreet, covering business, technology and culture.
