Starsky Wilson is the president and CEO of Children’s Defense Fund and CDF Action Council. Previously, he was president and CEO of Deaconess Foundation, a faith-based grantmaking organization for child well-being in St. Louis. From 2008 to 2018, Wilson was pastor of Saint John’s Church in St. Louis, which hosted the Black Lives Matter Freedom Ride to Ferguson, MO. During that time he also was appointed to co-chair the Ferguson Commission. Wilson is board chair of the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy and the Forum for Theological Exploration and an inaugural member of NinetyToZero, an initiative addressing the racial wealth gap in the United States.
