Stephen Greenblatt

Stephen Greenblatt is Cogan University Professor of the Humanities at Harvard University. A literary historian with interests including Shakespeare and early modern literature and culture, he is the author of 15 books, including “Will in the World: How Shakespeare Became Shakespeare”; “The Swerve: How the World Became Modern” and “Tyrant: Shakespeare and Politics.” Greenblatt is the general editor of “The Norton Anthology of English Literature” and “The Norton Shakespeare.” Recipient of two Guggenheim Fellowships, his honors also include the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction and the National Book Award for Nonfiction for “The Swerve.” Greenblatt is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the American Philosophical Society, the Accademia dell’Arcadia,and the British Academy.
