Stephen Hadley

Stephen Hadley is a principal of Rice, Hadley, Gates and Manuel international strategic consulting firm. Prior to this, he was the assistant to the president for national security affairs from 2005 to 2009 and assistant to the president and deputy national security advisor from 2001 to 2005. Previously, Hadley served on the National Security Council staff and in the Defense Department, including as assistant secretary of defense for international security policy from 1989 to 1993. He is an executive vice chair of the Atlantic Council board, a board member of the United States Institute of Peace, and a member of the Aspen Strategy Group and the Council on Foreign Relations.
