Stephen Walt is the Robert and Renee Belfer Professor of International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He is also a contributing editor at Foreign Policy and nonresident senior fellow at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft. The author of The Hell of Good Intentions, some of Walt’s other books are The Origins of Alliances, which received the Edgar S. Furniss National Security Book Award; Taming American Power, a finalist for the Lionel Gelber International Affairs Book Award and the Arthur Ross Book Prize; and The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy, a New York Times best-seller translated into over 20 languages. Walt is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and received the 2014 International Studies Association’s Distinguished Senior Scholar award.
