Steven Brill is the co-founder and co-CEO of NewsGuard, countering misinformation online by rating the reliability and credibility of news and information websites, television programs and podcasts. Additionally, NewsGuard for AI provides data to train generative AI models to avoid spreading misinformation. Previously, Brill founded Court TV, The American Lawyer magazine, Yale Journalism Initiative and Press+. A journalist, his articles have appeared in The New Yorker, New York Times Magazine and Harper’s, among other publications. Brill’s 2013 TIME cover story, “Bitter Pill: Why Medical Bills Are Killing Us,” won the National Magazine Award for Public Service and was expanded into a book. He is also the author of “The Teamsters and After,” “Tailspin” and his latest, “The Death of Truth.”
