Syd Kitson is chairman and CEO of Kitson & Partners, a real estate company specializing in the creation and development of environmentally responsible, sustainable master-planned communities and commercial properties. He founded the firm in 1999 and in 2006 completed the purchase of Babcock Ranch in southwest Florida, which is being developed as the country’s first solar-powered town with over 80 percent of the land in a preservation agreement. Kitson went into real estate after a career in the National Football League. His board service includes chairing the Florida Council of 100 and former chair of the State University System of Florida Board of Governors and the Florida Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
