Theresa Dankovich is co-founder and chief technical officer of Folia Water, a social enterprise seeking to provide clean, affordable drinking water worldwide and that produces the paper in The Drinkable Book. Dankovich co-founded pAge Drinking Paper in 2014 to create and promote the novel paper filter technology. Her post-doctoral work at University of Virginia and at Carnegie Mellon University focused on the invention and laboratory and field testing of silver nanoparticle papers for biocidal effectiveness. Recognition of Dankovich’s work includes being named to Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business 1000 list, TIME’s 25 Best Inventions of 2015 list, and Foreign Policy’s Global Thinker Award.
