Tucker Bounds is president and co-founder of Sidewire, a media technology startup that believes text messages are an emerging category of media, featuring newsmakers hosting conversations about politics and world affairs via publicly viewable text messages. Prior to Sidewire, he served as director of corporate communications at Facebook. Previously, Bounds was an advisor to political and issue advocacy campaigns, serving as 2010 deputy campaign manager for Meg Whitman’s California gubernatorial campaign and national spokesperson and director of rapid response for McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign. He was also western press secretary at the Republican National Committee and on the communications team for President George W. Bush’s 2004 re-election campaign.
