Varun Sivaram is a physicist and chief technology officer at ReNew Power, India’s largest producer of renewable energy. He’s a senior research scholar at the Columbia University Center for Global Energy Policy, a board member for Stanford University Woods Institute for the Environment and Precourt Institute for Energy, and an editorial board member for the journal Global Transitions. Sivaram was previously director of the energy program at the Council on Foreign Relations, senior energy advisor to the mayor of Los Angeles and governor of New York, and a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He authored the best-selling book, Taming the Sun: Innovations to Harness Solar Energy and Power the Planet.
