Victoria Nuland
Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, US State Department
Victoria Nuland is assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs, responsible for diplomatic relations with 50 countries in those regions as well as with NATO, the European Union, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Previously, she served as State Department spokesperson. Nuland was special envoy for Conventional Armed Forces in Europe from February 2010 to June 2011, and before that, served on the faculty of the National War College. Her awards include the State Department Distinguished Honor award, the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, and the Secretary of Defense’s Distinguished Civilian Service medal.
