Vilas Dhar is president and a trustee of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, a global philanthropy advancing AI and data solutions to create a thriving, sustainable future. An AI policy expert and champion for equity in a tech-enabled world, he’s an appointed member of the U.N. High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence and holds similar roles at Global Partnership on AI, OECD, World Economic Forum and Stanford. Dhar also teaches the LinkedIn Learning course, Ethics in the Age of Generative AI. Previously, he founded and was CEO of Next Mile Project, a philanthropic approach to nonprofit incubation and growth, practiced law, was a Gleitsman Fellow on Social Change at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership, and served on Massachusetts’ Economic Development Planning Council.
