Vivian Maduekeh is founder and managing principal of Food Health Systems Advisory Africa, which works toward improving food safety systems. FHS Africa evolved from SafeFoodNigeria Initiative, an online resource she started in 2012 after working in quality control as a trained food scientist and realizing that few public protections were in place. Maduekeh is also a project director at Young Bright Minds Africa. She was previously a health promotion lead at the Nigerian health insurance firm Hygeia HMO, advising corporate clients on disease prevention. Maduekeh is an ExxonMobil scholar pursuing a master’s degree in international health and tropical medicine at Oxford University and an Aspen Institute New Voices fellow.
