Volodymyr Zelenskyy
President of Ukraine
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the sixth and current president of Ukraine, elected in a landslide victory in 2019. Previously a comedian and actor, he was inspired to enter politics while playing the Ukrainian president in a satirical television series, “Servant of the People,” a role he held when elected. Zelenskyy entered the entertainment industry in the early 2000s. He founded a television-production company, Kvartal 95, and acted in skits, television shows, and feature films. He won the Ukrainian version of “Dancing with the Stars” and voiced the character of Paddington in the eponymous movie about a young bear. Zelenskyy earned a law degree from Kyiv National Economic University. As a war-time leader against Russia’s invasion in February, he has drawn vast support from the international community.
