Whitney Kimball Coe is director of national programs for the Center for Rural Strategies, where she also coordinates the National Rural Assembly, a rural movement made up of activities and partnerships. She directs national gatherings of the Rural Assembly, bringing together rural leaders and advocates with national public-interest organizations, funders, and policymakers to inform public policy and private investment in rural people and places. In 2017, Coe was a featured speaker at the inaugural Obama Foundation summit and a guest on the radio program “On Being” with Krista Tippett. She teaches fitness classes at the local YMCA and volunteers with the Athens Community Theatre in her hometown of Athens, Tennessee.
